The 2018 Porsche 911 GT2 RS has done it! It has lapped the Nürburgring-Nordschleife in a new record time of 6:47.3.
Brit Nick Tandy and German Lars Kern shared driving duties and came up wit the record five laps under 6m 50s. It was Lars Kern, however, who drove for the impressive 6m 47.3s record.
According to Fox News, the head of GT cars at Porsche, Frank-Steffen Walliser, said after the run, “At the start of the development process, we set ourselves a lap time target for the GT2 RS of less than 7:05. The credit for beating this target by 17.7 seconds goes to our development engineers, mechanics and drivers, who demonstrated an exceptionally strong team performance.”
