Porsche Taycan camping. It’s a new spin on “glamping.”
Porsche is offering up a new kind of camping experience with a trip through some of Germany’s most beautiful regions in a rented Taycan Turbo S Cross Turismo that has its own roof-mounted tent.
You get to put the pedal to the metal in one of the coolest EVs in the world – on some of the most gorgeous windy roads in the Germany – while not having to worry about where you’ll sleep at night. Because it’s on the roof. Let’s dig into the Porsche Taycan camping experience further.

For $2,621 per person adventurous travelers are touring Germany’s Black Forest and Rhine-Hesse regions in their very own luxurious rental setup.
The price not only includes Porsche products but covers transport from/to the Stuttgart airport or city center, all of the meals, blankets, pillows and needed outdoor equipment.
n other words, you do the driving and set up the gear and Porsche takes care of the itinerary, meals and other food.
The Porsche Roof Tent Experience is made up of two different three-day trips.
The first one takes you through the Black Forest region which is filled with heart-pumping winding roads and gorgeous scenery. (Think Grimm’s fairy tales).
You’ll have access to ziplining, hiking trails, e-biking, etc. At night you and your travel companion will sleep in the roof mounted tent.
The second three-day trip through the Rhine-Hesse regions is designed more for wine enthusiasts.
There’s at least one gourmet meal, wine tasting, and a guided drive along the German Wine Route with a behind-the-scenes look into the sparkling wine production. And at night, you get to hop back in that roof tent! (Hiking and picnics are part of this trip as well).
Porsche has already completed the Rhine-Hess Trip but there’s still time to book the Black Forest trip: September 6-8, 2022.
Each group will have a maximum of eight participants so spots are quite limited.
The Taycan Cross Turismo is more than just an electric sports car.
It’s, in fact, a wagon with a rugged exterior and tires that are designed for all sorts of terrain.
The first adventure takes you through the Black Forest.
You get a Taycan Turbo S Cross Turismo EV to share with one other driver, two nights in your roof tent, and various activities.
This tour lets you get up close and personal with the Black Forest. It also has zip lining in Hirschgrund and a sunrise hike to the top of the Feldberg mountain. More hikes, paddleboarding and e-biking are also available.
Porsche will even have a food truck at your campsite.
The Porsche Taycan Turbo S Cross Turismo is powered by a 93.4 kWh battery. Dual electric motors produce 617 hp or up to 751 hp in overboost. You can get from zero to 60 in 2.8 seconds and reach a top speed of 162 mph.

The battery is based on 800-volt technology instead of the usual 400 volts, thus you enjoy improved charging and drive performance with smaller cable cross-sections. Meanwhile, the cooling system ensures that the drive is optimally supplied with energy in any situation.
Porsche’s adaptive dampers and an air suspension are standard on all models and make this vehicle ride 0.8 inch higher than the sedan. A “gravel” drive mode increases ride height another 0.4 inch.
Best of all, the optional off-road design package provides the Cross Turismo with not only the extra ride height but adds unique front and rear facias, additional body cladding and side skirts. A roof rack and a rear-mounted bike rack will also be available from Porsche.
