The complete disassembly of our 1982 Porsche 911 is now complete – a crucial stage in our 2022 Porsche Restoration Challenge.
The next step is to determine the viability of each and every part. We use precise measurement tools to determine the size and shape variance of the pistons, cam shaft, drive shaft, and many others. We must determine each part’s viability, and see where it falls on the measurement scale. Then it’s decision time – Do we reuse it? Fix it? Or replace it? Even the slightest micron makes a difference.
It took some time, but all parts have been identified, cataloged, tagged and now reside in bins or are spread across our work area. The shell of the car is at the auto body shop and we are excited and ready to start putting it all back together.
