The wait is almost over for a new naturally-aspirated icon: the Porsche 911 GT3 RS (992).
Tik Tok gave us a glimpse of the blacked-out development Porsche 911 GT3 RS (992) approaching a stoplight in Southern California.
Among the standout features: the huge wing on the back. Road & Track noted that it’s even larger than the one on Porsche’s GTE PRO racers. It retains the graceful swan-neck uprights of the GT3, “though it does appear to feature even more adjustability than before,” the magazine noted.
From the look of it the 992 GT3 RS will feature the same 4.0-liter flat-six engine as the GT3 but with an expected increase in output. It should also be a few pounds lighter than the existing 911 GT3. But reduction won’t be huge: About the weight of an average house cat, one magazine reported.

According to media reports it’s expected to come exclusively with the 7-speed PDK gearbox.
“That powertrain combined with an even more aggressive aero package should make for one seriously capable track car. Thankfully, we shouldn’t have to wait much longer before we get to learn more about the latest creation from Weissach,” Top Car News reported.

Every moment behind the wheel of the 2022 Porsche 911 GT3 is magical.
With the 911 GT3 Porsche has refined everything that makes a sports car great: performance, tuning, and aerodynamics.
With a stunning naturally aspirated engine and track-inspired elements, the GT3 is optimized to bring race car-level engagement to your everyday life. Prepare for an adrenaline-pumping drive that will thrill your senses whether you’re on the track or climbing a winding mountain road.
The 911 GT3 was developed in Flacht, where Porsche race cars are made. The 4.0-liter high-revving flat-6 naturally aspirated engine can get you from zero to 60 mph in a mere 3.2 seconds and reach a searing top speed of 197 mph.
But it gives you more than an authentic motorsport experience. It also produces a thoroughbred sound. The 911 GT3 with Touring Package sets a performance tone – but with a focus primarily on the road. Due to its cutting-edge aerodynamics, cornering is nearly perfect.
And for 2022 more downforce means greater contact pressure and a higher maximum cornering speed, thanks to the increased wheel load and improved static friction.
With perfect suspension and track-worthy tire options, incredible steering, and overall handling, The 2022 GT3 gives you an exhilarating ride of a lifetime. You corner faster and better. No matter where the road takes you. Because time flies. And this is your time. Hop in.
