The Panamera is rated as one of the No. 1 Luxury Automobiles in the World For a Reason.
Does a sporty sedan have to look like any other sedan?
According to Porsche, the answer is a resounding “No!”
Could a sedan be both dynamic and more efficient while seating four people? If it’s a Porsche, the answer is “Yes!”
Porsche believes that the more visionary an idea is at the start the more exciting it is at the end. It’s something worth fighting for. Something worth the wait.
And fortunately, the wait is over.
Welcome to the world of the Porsche Panamera.
Whether it’s the Panamera, the Panamera Executive, or Panamera Sport Turismo the silhouette and proportions are unmistakably Porsche: Athletic, streamlined, with clear contours and powerful muscles. Take, for instance, the visual dynamism of the long wheelbase and shorter overhang at the front and longer overhang at the rear. Or, the prominent sculpting of the side profile that creates the trademark Porsche waistline and sense of lightness.
Car & Driver has described the Panamera as having “agile handling and a smooth ride.” And it’s equipped with the optional adjustable air suspension – making it a thrill to drive. With all the comfort, luxury, and tech you’d expect of a four-door hatchback Porsche.
“It has the look and the performance of a Porsche, but the Panamera has four doors and a roomy trunk, which help make its case as a daily driver. Its practicality doesn’t tarnish its sporting character, though. It’s nearly as agile and communicative as the brand’s sports cars,” according to Car & Driver’s glowing review.
A boosted engine is of course standard (if you can even use the word “standard” to describe anything related to a Porsche). And some models are Turbo.
It’s no wonder the Porsche Panamera is currently rated as one of the top luxury cars in the world.
Here’s what US News and World Report had to say when adding the Panamera to its recent list of top 10 luxury automobiles.
“The Porsche Panamera ranks near the top of the super-luxury car class, owing to its poised ride and handling, searing engine performance, spacious interior, and good predicted reliability.” The publication pointed to the Panamera’s comfortable high-end interior, powerful engine, and poised rides as being among its attributes.
“Porsche’s four-door hatchback Panamera has everything you’d expect of a Porsche. In other words, this four-door hatchback is a thrill to drive – without sacrificing the luxury and comfort you want in your day-to-day life.
It’s important to note that the standard rear-wheel-drive model and all-wheel-drive option both feature a 325-horsepower turbocharged 2.6-liter V-6. With the 4S model you get a 440 hp twin-turbo 2.9-liter V6 that takes you from zero to 60 mph in 3.6 seconds and reaches an enviable top speed of 179.
Upgrading to the Panamera GTS gives you a 473-hp twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V-8. The Executive models feature a longer wheelbase and offer more rear-seat legroom than the standard body. Chassis and control systems on all models have been tuned for the perfect balance between agility and comfort. The roomy interior cabin is as luxurious as it is practical.
Other upgrades include massaging seats and leather-covered climate-control vents as well as a fire extinguisher. You can also opt for ventilated seats, soft-close doors, four-zone automatic climate control, and a power-operated rear.
The high-tech center console is home to a plethora of touch-sensitive controls for climate control and other function. You get 18 cubic feet of luggage space.
So whether you’re powering across the desert or picking up groceries in town, this Porsche has everything you need to get it done with a price starting at $88,400. The Turbo S E-Hybrid is the most powerful model in the Panamera line and the second most powerful car Porsche currently sells, carrying a 563 horsepower, four-liter twin-turbo V8 with a 134 hp electric motor. The Turbo S E-Hybrid is equipped with a new 17.9 kWh battery that is 27 percent more energy-dense than before and includes optimized driving modes. Finally, the new Panamera 4 E-Hybrid boasts an electric motor that is paired with a 2.9-liter twin-turbo V6, producing 455 hp.
Moreover, a new generation of steering control calibration and new tires improves lateral dynamics and offers even greater handling precision. Optional adaptive air suspension improves the hatchback’s ride and handling.
According to US News and World Report, the Porsche Panamera is worth considering if you’re shopping for a high-end luxury car. Not only is it eye-catching, fun to drive, and practical but it’s a Porsche and everything that entails.
